close The following manufacturers have produced plotters capable of using MIRROR cards: Simrad, Navman, Furuno, Lorenz, Seiwa, Techmarine, Interphase, VDO, Sodena, Chartworx.
Q2.What is a MIRROR card?
closeThe MIRROR card is an exact copy of the Master card used in the primary station on board. The secondary station shall be linked to the primary station by C-Link or similar system. MIRROR cards are available only on MAX format.
Q3.Do you produce an USB reader for Furuno cartridges?
close Yes, Jeppesen Marine produces two different USB readers: a specific FP-card reader for plotters of the NAVNET 1 Series and a multimedia one compatible with SD-card, for NAVNET2 series plotters
Q4.What is the difference between the orange USB reader and the grey one?
closeThe orange USB reader is compatible with C-card, SD-card (Furuno) and Compact Flash. The grey USB FP-Card reader is only for FP-card format for with older Furuno plotters (Navnet1/GP1650/GP1850).
Q5.What can I do if my plotter doesn't read 2Mb User Cards, but only 128 Kb?
closeOn plotters that are not compatible with 2 MB User cards, you can always use the 128 kb cartridges. These cards have enough memory to save a large number of routes, waypoints, tracks and points of interest
Q6.Can User Cards be used in any plotter?
close Not all plotters read User Cards. But most of the Plotter manufactures are now studying the possibility to produce new models with that capability. Please contact your plotter dealer and check if your plotter is compatible.
Q7.I cannot see my MIRROR card, what is it happening?
closeIf the MIRROR card cannot be seen, the following problems might have occurred:
1) The Master card is not inserted correctly
2) The MIRROR Card doesn't correspond to the MASTER Card.
3) The two navigation stations might not be linked.
Q8.Can the MIRROR card be updated?
closeThe MIRROR card can be updated only if the Master Card has been updated for they always need to have the same chart code and version. The update of the MIRROR card is free of charge. Please visit one of our DPS Centers or contact one of our Jeppesen Marine offices.
Q9.How can I purchase the C-Map Dongle?
close The C-Map Dongle can be purchased online, through the NT+PC/MAXPC Selector. Run the Selector, click on the "Shopping Cart" icon, and then click on "Buy Dongle". Select your language (Italian/English) and click on OK, insert your name, surname and password and click on Register Data, then select the type of Dongle (USB or parallel port) and click on OK. Payment can be performed only with Credit Card (Visa or Mastercard).
Q10.Can I purchase more than one Dongle?
closeCustomers are allowed to purchase only one Dongle. If a customer loses or damages it, please contact
C-Map office.
Q11.Which software has their own Dongle?
closeProgramsPrograms that has their own Dongle are: Maxsea, SCS Mare, Sodena, SW&N, Sailmath, S&W and San Giorgio Sein.
Q12.What should I do if my C-Map Dongle breaks?
closeIn case you lose or break your Dongle, please contact one of our C-Map offices
Q13.I have a Dongle and want NT/PC charts on a second PC. Should I reinstall the same release?
closeYes, you shall reinstall the same CD version on the second PC in order to see the purchased chart with the Dongle. You can reinstall the licence with the RESTORE function or by inserting the chart license code manually. If you install a new release of the CD, you will have to purchase an updated version of the chart.
Q14.I have some problems installing NT+/PC charts on a second PC with the Dongle. What can I do?
close If you are having trouble downloading your charts with the Dongle inserted, you shall first delete all charts from the shopping cart. Then click on Chart Selection, select the code of the already purchased chart, click on " Buy Selected Chart" and then insert the old chart license code.
Q15.How can I reinstall my licences after a hardware configuration change or on a new PC?
closeIf you change PC or hardware configuration you have two options:
1) if you have a Dongle you can reinstall the same license by clicking on the "Restore" function or inserting it manually,
2) if you don’t have a Dongle you need a new license. To obtain it you need to generate a new chart license Request and send it to
C-Map Call Center.
Q16.How can I reinstall my licences after having formatted my PC after formatting without Dongle?
closeLicenses can be reinstalled in two ways:
1) if you did the backup of the licenses, insert the floppy disk and just click on "Restore Registration Information in the Settings page
2) if you didn’t do the backup: empty the Purchased charts window, reselect the code, click on "Buy Selected Chart", click on "Insert Chart License" and enter the chart license and click on Register.
