As winter approaches Australia and New Zealand, we're rolling out a new update for C-MAP Charts. This release includes routine enhancements across all our charts, such as updated navigational data sourced from official authorities. We're also introducing a new Electronic Nautical Chart Display Mode (ENC) and beginning the phase-out of Raster Charts in our C-MAP Reveal and 4D products.
Since January 2025 a new ENC ONLY display mode functionality has been added to C-MAP charts for Simrad®, Lowrance® and B&G® Chartplotters. This new functionality will display only official charts, as supplied by the Hydrographic Offices (HOs). The inclusion of this functionality ensures compliance to the most stringent requirements from selected Hydrographic Offices distributed by IC-ENC*.
ENC ONLY is now available across the whole of APAC for Discover, Reveal and X-Gen Charts. The update is available to any new charts purchased and OTA updates where you will have a choice to download ENC Charts as an optional layer.
Raster Charts are scanned versions of official Paper Charts published by Hydrographic Offices (HOs) around the world. As most HOs have switched to Electronic Nautical Charts (ENCs), it’s increasingly challenging and often impossible to source updated Paper Charts, as these are no longer being published. As a result, C-MAP 4D and REVEAL will no longer feature Raster Charts.
If you have a C-MAP 4D or REVEAL chart, when updating your chart the Raster chart layer of data will be removed from your SD card.
