How to Update Your Chart

Select your chart below, for a quick guide on how to update your chart.

Update your DISCOVER or REVEAL (MAX-N+) Chart

Lowrance, Simrad & B&G Chartplotters

  • Please note, it is not possible at this time to update your chart via Mobile or Tablet
  • Visit www.gofreeshop.com
  • Log in, by clicking the “Sign In / Sign Up” Button, on the top right of your screen
  • If you haven’t already, you will need to download Maps Manager, a small piece of software which will allow you to update your charts*
  • Insert your SD Card into an SD Card Reader attached to your PC – ensure that the card is not write-protected
  • Click the “Update” button
  • Click on the “Shopping Cart” icon, on the top right of your screen
  • Click the “Pay Online” button – there will only be a charge if you are outside of your 12-month free updates period, after this you will only pay 50% of the normal retail price to update or upgrade
  • Click “Your Products”
  • Click “Update Maps” for C-MAP-labelled SD Cards
  • You will then have two options:
    • 1. UPDATE VECTOR – this will only update full-feature vector data and high-res bathymetry.
    • 2. UPDATE ALL – this will update the above, plus any premium features such as Raster Chart Layer, Satellite Imagery, Shaded Relief, etc. If you do not select this option, you can always update these layers later.
  • The system will check the cards and start installing update maps to it
  • At the end of the process – which may take a few hours, depending on how much data requires updating and the size of the chart – the system will inform you that the updated card is ready to be used.

 

* Maps Manager is only available on PC, and is not compatible with Mac. Please see our guide to Troubleshooting Mapping Problems  for more.

Update your X-Generation Chart – DISCOVER™ X & REVEAL™ X

X-Generation charts are compatible with Simrad® NSX™ - for more on compatibility, visit our  Device Search.

  • Please note, it is not possible at this time to update your chart via Mobile or Tablet
  • Charts can be purchased from:  C-MAP Xstore
  • In order to update your chart, you will first need to download X ChartManager

 

 

The X ChartManager portal allows you to manage and update your charts. It’s very easy to use and intuitive.

  • Launch the X ChartManager from your desktop
  • Click the “LOGIN” button, and either Sign In to your existing account or Sign Up to create your account
  • X ChartManager will prompt you to insert your SD Card
  • If your card has not already been Registered, X ChartManager will prompt you to do this
  • Once your card is Registered you will be able to see the boundary of the chart
  • To update your chart, click on the button “Add Area to Update”
  • This will allow you to draw the area you want to update – you do not have to update the full chart, just select the area you need
  • X ChartManager will check for updates – if none are available, it will inform you. If updates are available, you will then be prompted to select which layers you want to update
  • Once you select “Start Update” it is vital you do not remove the card while the update is running
  • You will be notified when the update is completed – please make sure you follow the instructions and safely eject the SD card before removing it from your computer

 

Update Your 4D Chart

Raymarine & Furuno Chartplotters

4D Charts are primarily compatible with Raymarine & Lowrance Chartplotters – for more on compatibility, visit our Device Search.

  • Please note, it is not possible at this time to update your chart via Mobile or Tablet
  • Visit https://store.c-map.com
  • Log in, by clicking the “LOGIN” button, on the top right of your screen
  • If you haven’t already, you will need to download Maps Manager, a small piece of software which will allow you to update your charts*
  • Insert your SD Card into an SD Card Reader attached to your PC – ensure that the card is not write-protected
  • Click on “ADD SD CONTENT”. Your card should now be detected
  • Click on the “GET” button
  • Click on “Shopping Cart” link, on the top right of your screen
  • Insert your details for invoicing – there will only be a charge if you are outside of your 12-month free updates period, after this you will only pay 50% of the normal retail price to update or upgrade
  • Click on “Your Maps”
  • Click “Apply” and then “Download”
  • At the end of the process – which may take some time, depending on how much data requires updating and the size of the chart – the system will inform you that the updated card is ready to be used

Other Upgrade Options

If you have another, older, C-MAP chart, your chart cannot be updated online.
